Michael J. Winter Attorney Michael J. Winter has a general practice with emphasis on court room experience and jury trials. The law firm offers legal representation to individuals and businesses in Council Bluffs and throughout Iowa. I am a member of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association. I spend almost every work day in a court room and have 27 years of court room experience. My Philosophy Choosing an attorney for your legal problem is a very important decision. Whether you win or lose depends not only on the circumstances of your case but upon how well it is presented to a judge, a jury, or even to the other side's attorney. I have practiced in Council Bluffs for more than a quarter-century, including several years as a former prosecuting attorney. In my legal career, I have tried more than one hundred cases to jury verdicts. So I am well respected by our local judges and court personnel, and by the other attorneys in the area. I strive to provide my clients with the full range of service generally associated with large firms, while demonstrating the knowledge, skill, and individualized personal attention that can usually only be had from a smaller practice. I pride myself on being caring, trustworthy, highly attentive, and responsive to my clients. With me, you will never be palmed off on a junior associate or a paralegal. I believe that resolving legal matters shouldn't be stressful and uncomfortable for clients. You should have the opportunity to thoroughly understand your options, ask questions, discuss alternatives and minimize your costs. Realizing that many legal problems can involve a fair amount of acrimony and tension, our philosophy is to relieve your anxiety and stress.
